Assistant - Associate Professor

Job Summary

The Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University ( invites applicants for faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  Applications are welcome from researchers in any area of life sciences, including but not limited to neurobiology, microbiology, immunology, genetics and cell biology. The quality and potential of the research and teaching program will be the primary criteria for consideration.  


Establishing and maintaining an independent, externally funded research program; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; participating in departmental, college, and university service.

Application materials and evaluation:  Applicants should have a Ph.D. or similar doctoral-level degree   Applicants should submit (1) a cover letter, (2) curriculum vita, (3) research statement describing the long term and short term research plan with possible specific aims for the first five years (2-3 pages)  (4) teaching statement (1 page; teaching philosophy, experience and plans), (5) a diversity and inclusion statement (1 page), and (6) three letters of reference (see link for instructions).
