Michael Schnoor

Michael Schnoor received his PhD from University of Münster, Germany; and completed postdoctoral fellowships at Emory University and Max-Planck-Institute, where he discovered that actin-binding proteins (ABP) are critical regulators of neutrophil extravasation. In 2012, he was recruited as Professor to Cinvestav-IPN, Mexico-City, where he continues to study the roles of ABP in neutrophil recruitment. His lab has discovered previously unrecognized functions of ABP for GTPase activation and stress fiber formation. Michael has published more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts, graduated 3 PhD and 8 MSc students and serves on different editorial boards including JLB. He is chair of the SLB membership-committee.
