SLB 2023: Catering Details

In case you were wondering what's on the menu, see below for the details of the various catered events associated with SLB 2023. SIGs on Wednesday 9/27, the Opening Reception at the Botanical Gardens on Thursday 9/28,  and the Professional Development Workshop dinner on Friday 9/29 require additional ticket purchase as noted in red and are not included in the main conference registration. Subject to change and all quantities limited and on a first come, first serve basis.

Wednesday 9/27:

  • SIG Breaks (Requires Special Ticket/Add-On Registration): 10:30am and 2:30pm (coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks; fruit and breakfast breads (am); veggie dip and bakery selection (pm)

Thursday 9/28:

  • FASEB DataWorks! Breakfast 8:30-10am: Breakfast Sandwiches; fruit and yogurt; juices, coffee, tea
  • AM Refreshments 9:45-10:15am: coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks; fruit and breakfast breads
  • Poster Session Lunch 11:30am-1pm: Assortment of Wraps (Club, Chipotle Chicken, Grilled Veggies and Hummus) in a boxed lunch that includes chips, fruit cup and a drink.
  • PM Break 2:30-3:30pm: coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks; veggie dip and bakery selection
  • Opening Reception (Requires Special Ticket/Add-On Registration) 7-9pm: Georgia BBQ Buffet; Garden salad with house vinaigrette, Smoked country-style pork ribs, Smoked beef brisket, Pulled BBQ chicken, Mustard potato salad, Apple cider coleslaw, Blue ribbon baked beans, Double cream corn, Roasted tomato rice, Dill pickles, yellow onions, jalapeños, and cherry peppers, White bread, cheddar biscuits, and cornbread with honey butter, Caramel banana pudding, Pecan pie with spiced whipped cream, regular coffee,decaffeinated coffee, hot tea, water, and iced tea are included. No alcohol is permitted or available at this event.

Friday 9/29:

  • Networking Breakfast 8-9am: coffee, tea, juices, muffins and scones, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, grits, biscuits and gravy, bacon/sausage
  • AM Break 10:30-11am: coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks; fruit and breakfast breads
  • Poster Session Lunch 12:30-2pm: "To Go Salads" (Grilled Chicken Caesar, Chef's Salad with Turkey, Ham and Bacon, Garden Salad with Garbanzo Beans) in a boxed lunch that includes chips, fruit cup, and a drink.
  • PM Break 3:30-4:30pm: coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks; veggie dip and bakery selection
  • Professional Development Workshop Dinner (Requires Special Ticket/Add-On Registration) 6-8pm: Southern Dinner Buffet; salad, Georgia southern caviar salad, southern fried chicken, shrimp and grits, pot roast, collard greens, whipped potatoes, mac n cheese, biscuits, apple berry crisp, chocolate cake, coffee, tea (hot and iced), and water.

Saturday 9/30:

  • Poster Flash Talks & Breakfast 8-9:30am: coffee, tea, juices, breakfast breads, fruit, eggs, potato, sausage, salsa, cheese, tortillas and other toppings for make your own breakfast tacos.
  • AM Break 11-11:30am: coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks; fruit and breakfast breads
  • Poster Session Lunch 1-2:30: Assorted Sandwiches (Italian Meats, Tomato, Basil & Mozzarella Sandwich, Turkey and Swiss) in a boxed lunch that includes a cookie, chips, fruit cup and a drink.
  • PM Refreshments 3:30-3pm: coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks; veggie dip and bakery selection
