PREP-MT postbaccalaureate research education program

The PREP-MT postbaccalaureate research education program is accepting applicants for summer 2026

We are currently inviting applications for our 2026 cohort of PREP scholars at Montana State University.  Our program runs from June 1, 2026 until May 31, 2027 and will provide recent bachelor’s graduates with in-depth mentored research experience and career development training to qualify the participants for competitive PhD programs in the biomedical sciences.

We offer:

  • One year of hands-on research experience with a dedicated mentor, starting June 1st.
  • Choice of biomedical sciences, environmental health, biomedical engineering, Tribal/rural/community health, many other fields

  • Opt to take 1-3 graduate classes to strengthen skills

Eligibility criteria:

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Graduating with a bachelor’s between May 2023-May 2026 in a biomedical discipline
  • GPA of ≥ 3.0, improved GPAs considered
  • Aspiring to earn a PhD.
