Dr. Zahra Timsah holds a PhD and MSc in Biochemistry and Cancer Biology from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston with postdoctoral training in drug development and bioinformatics at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Zahra also holds an MBA from the University of Leeds Business School in the UK and an Executive Degree in AI from MIT. Zahra specializes in the discovery, engineering and commercialization of innovative softwares and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered decision support systems.

Zahra is the Co-Founder and CEO of American Medical Center Laboratories (AMCL), LLC; an award-winning Houston-based company that specializes in providing pre-built AI products and solutions along with consultancy services to help develop proprietary data-driven AI softwares and workflow systems. AMCL, LLC has been voted as the best AI company in healthcare for 2019 by Global Health and Pharma magazine

Zahra is also the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Assurance Medication Management, Inc; a Houston-Based company developing and commercializing state-of-the-art proprietary medication management software for managing poly-pharmacy and adherence issues utilizing the power of AI and one-of-a-kind clinical database.

During her career, Zahra worked as a product development manager for Protox Therapeutics, Canada bridging between medical technology and clinical trials. Zahra also worked as business development consultant for Novartis, USA; Bristol Myers Squibb, UK; Johnson&Johnson, UK and Ward Medication Management, Aus with focus on AI-platform development for medication management and wearable technology.

Zahra has also held the position of Vice President of Operations and Director of Artificial Intelligence Program at Kiromic, Inc specializing in machine learning/deep learning platform development for immunotherapy.

In academia, Zahra has acted as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Leeds, UK and a Principal Investigator at St. James’s Hospital in the UK where she led several studies in therapeutics and smart decision support systems that got published in high impact journals such as Nature.

Zahra’s research in clinical software development has been funded by The Royal Society, UK, Wellcome Trust, UK, Cancer Research, UK and National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA.

Finally, Zahra is a regular speaker at healthcare and AI-focused conferences such as Gordon Research Conference, Tie Global Conferences, Texas Association of Health Plans, and ReWork Conferences. Zahra is also an official member of the Young Entrepreneur Council with work being featured in Forbes Magazine.
