From auto-inflammation to auto-immunity: new paradigms for the identification of new immunologic diseases.

Are you an early career investigator who is interested in attending the 5th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE ON PATHOGENESIS AND THERAPY OF IMMUNOMEDIATED DISEASES in Milan (Italy), May 16-18, 2019. The Society for Leukocyte Biology has the privilege to announce that we will be holding a friendship symposium at this event. The symposium theme is “From auto-inflammation to auto-immunity: new paradigms for the identification of new immunologic diseases”. We are seeking promising and aspiring new investigators (within 10 years of their terminal degree) to present their research on the following topics:

  • Auto-inflammatory diseases: from the bed to the bench side experimental approaches to identify new diseases, to better understanding their pathogenesis and to develop better therapeutic approaches. 
  • Auto-immune diseases: from the bed to the bench side experimental approaches to identify new diseases, to better understanding their pathogenesis and to develop better therapeutic approaches. 
  • Overlapping clinical features and pathogenic mechanisms between auto-inflammation and autoimmunity
  • In vivo models of auto-inflammation and autoimmunity

Three (3) recipients of the award will be chosen and will receive:

1)     Free registrations up to 2 nights hotel accommodation (European) or  up to 3 nights hotel accommodation (extra- European)

2)    Travel reimbursement of up $ 500 (European) or $ 1000 (extra-European) per symposium’s travel policy for speakers. Funding for this session is provided by SLB.
